Inaugural Edition - 2026
Celebrating the moments that define school sports. From the decisive split-second on the field to the raw emotion in the stands — the SSPA exists to honour the photographers who capture it all.
Free Entry - No Prizes - Pure Recognition
What you need to know:
• Free to enter & open to all photographers
• Ten categories - ten finalists per category
• Winner and two runners-up per category, plus an overall winner and two runners-up
• Digital certificates and featured recognition for all 33 winners
• The overall winner will be crowned the inaugural "School Sports Photographer of the Year"
How it works:
1. Photograph any school sports event in South Africa between 1 January 2026 and 30 September 2026
2. Submit a maximum of 2 images per category and no more than 10 images in total
3. Submission via the entry form - open for submissions from 31 July 2026 to 15 October 2026
4. Finalists announced on 20 November 2026 & winners announced on 1 December 2026
